What is a Chauffeur?

July 14th, 2010

A chauffeur is a person employed to drive a passenger motor vehicle, especially a luxury vehicle such as a large saloon or Limousine. Originally such drivers were always personal servants of the vehicle owner, but now in many cases specialist chauffeur service companies, or individual drivers provide both driver and vehicle for hire.
Licensing or screening is of utmost importance to any reputable private chauffeur or “operator” of a fleet of vehicles and any person requiring such a service of either should check the credentials of either before proceeding.
Hire of a chauffeur and or vehicles are categorised as “Private hire“ and not taxi or hackney Carriage operators/cars and therefore cannot pick up from the street by flagging down in the usual taxi method, but require pre booking by any means. This action is actually preferred by most private chauffeurs with as much notice as practically possible as the standards within the industry are usually and should be quite high and the preparation by the owner of the vehicle usually takes some time in anticipation of the next “job
Vehicle cleanliness both inside and out are vital and legally in the UK shall be no smoking. The provisions of bottled water, newspapers, peanuts and or sweets are common and almost expected these days with all chauffeurs immaculately presented in 3 piece suit, clean pressed white shirt and tie. Polished shoes and attention to detail such as clean fingernails and hair shall be addressed and will address all clients as “Sir” or “Madam” and be respectful at all times.
Courteous and safe driving with high regard to other road users will be adopted, which is why chauffeuring is not for everyone. A high degree of patience is required and the ability to think quickly and make on the spot decisions is also an asset. Chauffeurs may also work with business leaders, VIP’s, celebrities and high profile personnel, so discretion may be required when with such individuals.

Ascot Chauffeur

May 16th, 2010

A highlight of the calendar and always guaranteed to attract a strong crowd, a favourite for most seasoned circuit eventers and sunny weather all week! well hopefully, it can only be Royal Ascot! The greatest race meeting in the world.

Royal ascot this week starts on the 15th until ther 19th of June 2010 see http://www.ascot.co.uk/index.html and for all those travelling may we remind patrons using a Limo or Chauffeur car or taxi to use fully licensed and insured vehicles at all times.

The Police and VOSA will be in full attendance every day of the meeting and random check will be carried out on drivers and operators alike looking for the rogues who bring this industry into disrepute.

Uninsured drivers and cars involved in accidents with you on board leave you no rights to claim rightful compensation for losses and injury whilst a passenger (not without a struggle anyway) not to mention the stress caused and time lost if the car is towed away by VOSA or the police in the event of your driver or car being identified as uninsured or unlicensed, especially if you are on he side of the M3

Even if they do not display one, as some are exempt, all licensed Limosuine, taxi and private hire Chauffeur vehices must carry their vehicle license onboard for inspection at anytime as well as their valid taxi or private hire drivers license. If they are not on display or cannot produce them-ask why not?

All borough councils or the PCO office carry out the strictest security checks and validate all insurance documentation for each operator and driver before issuing each license, if they can’t produce one i would start to think seriously about continuing the journey.

Last years event followed up with 21 police prosecutions! dont let it be you this year.

See you there!

Top Wedding Dress Tips by Bryan Pilkington

April 20th, 2010

Buying a wedding dress is an important decision and there are many aspects you will need to discuss when choosing your perfect dress. This article will give you some of the top bridal gown buying tips to help your decision become easier.

One primary aspect when buying your wedding dress is the colour. The colour of the bridal gown you choose is very important. The right kind of wedding outfit needs to be a good balance for the time and location of the wedding. Examples of colour choice include wearing a white bridal dress in summer and a darker dress in winter.

Wedding dresses have usually been associated with whites, ivory and pale pastel shades. Other colours such as bold colours like red, purple or gold can be used in accessories and items that would add a unique style to your outfit. There is a disadvantage with such scintillating bold colours as they don’t merge with most colour themes and therefore tend to stand out; which is why shades of white are most common. When choosing colours for a frock, different themes therefore may require different colour schemes. For example, a Celtic theme can have a Celtic wedding dress and utilize colours relating to it. There are other options and ideas, and it comes down to the interests and styles the couple chooses, just make sure your dress and the decor contain as less of the colour black as possible.

The next aspect is the actual style of the wedding wear. For example: for a summer wedding the bride may wear a shorter dress, whereas in a winter wedding the bride may have a longer dress. This aspect is, though, more for convenience than style. This is due to the fact a long dress in summer can make you get hot quickly while a short dress doesn’t suit a winter wedding in most cases.

An important consideration is the price. Dresses come in many different prices. For example: designer wedding dresses can cost up to 10,000 pounds. However, most wedding dresses come between the price range of 1000 pounds to 3000 pounds. It is also possible to buy dresses that are mass-produced, which cost around 500 pounds.

Selecting a wedding outfit requires a lot of decision making, thought and planning as you have to note down the time of the year you want it to take place, the location of your wedding ceremony and the time of the day. This information will shape your wedding dress plans.

7 Tips to Manage Wedding Cost by Frances Robinson

April 20th, 2010

If you don’t want to begin a marriage in debt, develop a plan to help manage wedding cost, before you start spending. You will likely need to make some hard choices to do so but in the end the savings will be worth the sacrifice. To manage wedding cost you should determine whether to spend more funds on the ceremony or reception.

Manage Wedding cost with these seven tips:

1. Make a budget and stick to it. Certainly you desire to have your dream wedding but unmanageable spending will result in a financial problem far beyond your wedding day. Have a checklist to guide and help you stay on track.

2. Plan for adequate time to make decisions. Don’t wait until the last minute to make choices. If you do fatigue and stress could cause you to make poor choices that can cost more than intended.

3. Decide on the kind of wedding that you can afford. Your wedding could be casual, formal or held at a beach. Do you need to have your ceremony in a church? Will a rented hall or private home be sufficient? How will each affect cost?

4. What kind of reception will you have? How big will your guest list be? This is where you can spend the most money so limit your guest list to what you can really afford.

5. Find a reasonable caterer. You can spend a plenty of money on food and beverages so be aware. Have relatives and close friends prepare some dishes if your reception will be small and informal.
6. What part of the reception and wedding ceremony are most important to you? Focus your attention there and spend accordingly. Don’t accept opinions of others if it conflicts with your carefully thought out financial plans.

7. Take caution that you don’t make impulsive or emotional decisions. Be as logical as you can and the cost of your choices. If you let emotions make your decisions you’ll spend too much.

When trying to manage wedding cost observe these tips. Planning helps you to be more successful than you would be without one. The bottom line is make a plan and stick to it.

Limousine Services Make Sense for a Girls Night on the Town by Stephen Daniels

April 20th, 2010

Limousine services are the premier means of celebrating a night out with the girls. When it is time to paint the town red, a chauffeur-driven limousine is a safe and, undeniably stylish way of getting the girls where they want to go. Add to this the indisputable appeal of having heads turn as soon as a well-trained driver opens the car’s doors and assists the ladies out of the conveyance, and it makes sense to give limousine rentals for a girls’ night out or special occasion a second look.

The nuts and bolts of hiring limousine services are fairly straight forward. The first decision that party-goers should make is the style and color of the limo. Black and white are the most commonly seen colors, though white is usually associated with weddings. Black limos are commonly linked to red carpet events, Hollywood’s high society gatherings or groups of fashionable ladies visiting a much sought-after nightclub.

Choosing the type of limo comes next. A stretch limo is excellent for a good-sized group of friends while super stretch limousine rentals can transport an entire bridal party or bachelorette outing to its destination. It makes sense to rely on the comfortable confines of limousine services when trying to transport a larger group of girls; after all, even if some were to carpool, finding the locale, parking and getting everyone to meet up on time at the agreed upon venue shaves valuable party time off the clock. The limo gets everyone there and back – on time and arriving as a group.

Limousine services are also an essential aspect of safety, especially when there is alcohol involved. Avoid drunk driving with simple to arrange limousine rentals and keep yourself as well as all of your girlfriends safe, healthy and alive. Should there be car trouble on the road, it is up to the chauffeur and the limousine services company to provide alternative transportation and take care of a broken down car. This eliminates the late-night car trouble that could strand one of the girls in the middle of a deserted highway.

In addition to safety, chic, and money savings associated with limousine rentals, there are the untold fringe benefits that consumers do not usually relate with chauffeured car rental services. For example, did you know that some companies offer free drinks to parties that rent super stretch limos for a minimum set of hours? No matter what the special occasion might be – or even if it is a ‘just because’ girls night out that celebrates friendship and life – there is a rental limo that fits the bill.
